Safe Harbor
Mission Statement:
- To
provide temporary safe shelter for victims of family
violence and their children.
- To
train and educate the general public, parents and children
and professionals who deal with victims and perpetrators of
domestic violence.
- To
coordinate a sustained effort to alleviate the escalating
and devastating problem of family violence in our
communities.
Safe Harbor
also educates teenagers about the danger signs of a controlling
abusive relationship through the Megan Project. Why?
Over half the women who seek help in a shelter have been in
abusive relationships as teenagers. The Megan Project is
taught in every high school in the four county region of
Greenville, Anderson, Oconee and Pickens. To learn more
about the Megan Project or the services offered at Safe Harbor,
please visit our website at
http://www.safeharborsc.org

In 2007,
Safe Harbor II in Anderson and Safe Harbor I in Greenville
housed 603 women and children who are victims of family
violence. Your participation in the Cycle Tour helps make
this possible.
